School choir helps to spread festive cheer at Ford Christmas market

Murky weather didn’t deter hundreds of people from visiting Ford’s annual Christmas market on Sunday.

Around 50 stallholders inside the Lady Waterford Hall and outside in a street marquee provided the opportunity for visitors to snap up some Christmas gifts.

It was also a chance to socialise over a tasty snack and soak up the Christmas spirit, especially with carols sung by the choir from Ford First School and an appearance by Santa with his trusty donkeys, Chocolate and Jacko, who met children in the magical grotto at Horseshoe Forge.

The event was hailed a success, despite the heavy rain of the previous day causing some parking problems at Etal showground. The organisers would like to thank Olympus Marquees and EDF Energy for their sponsorship of the event, Tillside Cricket Club for their assistance with parking supervision, Longridge Towers School for the provision of mini buses and Ford First School PTA for booking and hosting Santa Claus.
