Run celebrates world's oldest suspension bridge

The fourth annual Two Nations event, held at Paxton House, attracted 106 runners of all ages in two runs organised by The Friends of the Union Chain Bridge.

The 7km run took experienced runners over the Bridge twice and included riverside paths, farmland, off-road tracks and country lanes. First runner home was Graham Simpson of Wooler, in 28mins 29secs.

The 1.8km run through Paxton woods and riverside was won by Lyall Roberts, of Coldstream, in 7mins 55secs.
