Reed with England at Euro Curling Championships
Local curler Andrew Reed has been competing in the European Championships in Sweden during the past week.
The Ancroft farmer, who is a member of the Glendale Club and curls out of Kelso, has been representing England, who for the first time played in the top division.
England always knew this would be a tough ask at this level and on the ice, despite some close games, they lost their opening seven matches in the round-robin group stages against Germany (9-8); Netherlands (8-5); Norway (9-5) although England were credited with the win; Sweden (9-4); Switzerland (8-7); Italy (8-2) and Scotland (7-5). They still have games to play against Russia, and Denmark.
