Leon joins Wolves
Berwick’s Leon Flint has been snapped up by Premiership side Wolverhampton.
The teenager, who will still race with the Bandits in the Championship, has been signed as a replacement for Tom Bacon, who last week announced that he was retiring from the sport.
Flint rode as a guest for the Wolves last week at Peterborough, but will now make his official bow for the Monmore Green side on Monday, away to Ipswich.
Wolves boss Chris Van Straaten said: “Our club captain (Rory Schlein) has worked with Leon a lot over the past couple of years on various training programmes and he couldn’t have spoken more highly of him. We are looking forward to seeing how he develops his game further with us.”
Flint, who has been piling up the points with both the Bandits and Berwick Bullets in the National League this season said: “I’m very excited and don’t think I could have landed myself a better spot.”
