Ultras win Berwick Charities Cup

The Free Trade Ultras won the 2019 Berwick Charities Cup at The Stanks on Saturday, with a dramatic 4-3 win over local rivals The Ammies (Tweedmouth).

The Ammies led 2-0 early in the second half, but the Ultras fought back to level 2-2.

Tweedmouth retook the lead at 3-2, but again the Ultras equalised at 3-3, taking the game into extra-time.

In a tense and keenly fought encounter the match was decided in extra-time when the Free Trade were awarded a penalty, which they converted.

The previous evening, in the final of the Crammond Cup, which was contested by the two losing semi-finalists, Alnmouth beat Eyemouth Amateurs 6-0.
