Scottish Lowland League pulls plug on Development League campaign
The Scottish Lowland League has confirmed that it will not start its Development League campaign this season.
A statement on the league's website said: “The Scottish Lowlands Development Football League have confirmed that this season’s Development League will not start.
“With the ongoing restrictions due to the global pandemic, it has become clear that there won’t be adequate time to play any meaningful competition.
“This is a decision that has not been taken lightly but we feel there is no other option at this stage.
“When restrictions are lifted clubs will be able to arrange friendly games when it is deemed safe for them to do so.
“This news will be disappointing for clubs and players, but we are taking steps to make sure that players born in 2001 can take part for another season with their current club.”
