Rangers held for point by Braves
CALEDONIAN BRAVES 2BERWICK RANGERS 2Berwick had to settle for a point in their Lowland League clash away to Caledonian Braves after twice taking the lead.
Goals from Kevin Waugh and Lewis Barr put Rangers 0-1 and 1-2 up, but twice the home side came back to earn a share of the spoils.
This was Berwick’s first ever visit to Alliance Park and after a goalless first half they took the lead after 54 minutes when Waugh fired in a great free kick which gave the home keeper no chance.
The Braves fought back and equalised through Neil McLaughlin.
Barr was then on hand to

tap in from close range as Berwick retook the lead after 80 minutes when a mix-up between a defender and goalkeeper played the Rangers man in.
It looked as if the Borderers might hang on for a win and three valuable points, but right at the death, in injury time, the Braves equalised for a second time through Raffi Krissian when he met a cross into the box.
Manager Ian Little was naturally disappointed that his side did not take all three points from the game.
“Leading 2-1 going into injury time we should have closed the game out,” he said. “Losing a goal so late in the game it’s definitely a case of two points dropped rather than a point won.”
Berwick now sit 13th in the league table on nine points whilst Caledonian Braves remain in sixth on 20.
On Friday, Berwick are back in league action away to Spartans, when they will be looking to avenge last Tuesday’s 2-1 home defeat in the semi-final of the East of Scotland Cup.
