Notman, who is currently sidelined with a knee injury, was named as Players’ Player and Directors’ Player and he also received the awards presented by the Supporters’ Club, the Supporters’ Trust and the Tweeddale Press.

But afterwards the midfield dynamo admitted he would gladly have given up all the silverware to enjoy some success with the team on the pitch.

“I think everyone accepts that we under-achieved,” said Notman. “We had a good run in the cup, and the club managed to earn some money from it, but for the players our league form was a big disappointment.

“All we can do now is look forward to next season and hope that we can put things right.”

Those were sentiments endorsed by fellow team-mate Jonny Fairbairn who also admitted to feeling an element of frustration at how things worked out.

“At the start of the season everyone was talking about us being one of the favourites for the play-off, if not the title itself,” he said. “But for one reason or another it just didn’t happen for us.

“We have under-achieved, but hopefully we can do a lot better next season.

We have the nucleus of a good side and it might be that we only need to add one or two players in key positions to turn us into a successful side - that’s up to the manager during the summer.”

Other award winners at the presentation saw Devon Jacobs named as the Border Supporters’ Club winner, whilst Paul Willis picked up the Steven Mitchell Memorial Trophy as the choice of the Junior Supporters’ Club as well as the social media award.

Striker Darren Lavery picked up the trophy as top goalscorer, whilst Euan Bauld was named as the recipient of the Hogg Trophy as the Young Player of the Year.
