Middlemist hits century as Berwick beat Blyth
Century-maker Scott Middlemist was the man in form with the bat for Berwick at the weekend as they recorded a 39-run home win over Blyth 1sts in the Northumberland & Tyneside Division 3.
The sides went into the match in second and third places respectively, but it was Middlemist, who carried his bat for 104 not out, who was the mainstay of the home innings which helped his side to a vital victory in their push for promotion.
Berwick put on 207-6 in their 40 reduced overs, the game having been shortened because of rain at lunchtime which resulted in a delayed start. Blyth were all out for 168 in reply with Andy Clark on 65, Middlemist taking four wickets.
In Division 2, Tillside 1sts moved back to the top of the table with their 80-run home win over Warkworth 1sts.

Tillside batted first and with openers Ross Hindmarsh and Joe Bickerton hitting 56 and 41 respectively, they posted 208 all out with Adam Hall taking three wickets for the visitors.
