The former Grand Prix rider has been drafted in following injuries to Nikolaj Busk Jakobsen and now Bandits’ number one Aaron Summers.

The Australian suffered a broken foot in heat one of the home win over Birmingham on Saturday and has been ruled out for the rest of the season.

Jonasson was due to make his debut at Birmingham on Wednesday and will also race for Berwick against Newcastle at Shielfield on Saturday.

Apart from that, it was a good week for Berwick who picked up seven points from three meetings, which helped lift them away from the foot of the Championship league table.
