It has also became a Duke of Edinburgh Centre, gaining the accreditation in March 2015, and five members of the group have successfully completed their Gold expedition to go towards their Gold Award, with six other members starting their Bronze Award with the goal to do their expedition this year.

As part of their awards the members have to be involved in a community project and the group has set up an ongoing scheme at East Ord Well in the village, which was badly over-grown. This has now been cleared, with a new accessible path created.

The group has also supported East Ord Village Hall during its annual summer car boot sale, the Ord parish remembrance service, and helped at the Tweedmouth Old Folks’ annual Christmas supper at the Guild Hall.

It has held various fund-raising events throughout the year, which help to provide money for the day to day running of the group, as well as go toward any activities.

The group meets every Thursday during term time at East Ord Village Hall, at 7.30pm.
