Given that Jackson is a member of the world famous ‘Checkmat’ team – the same team that the TF adults and youngsters compete under – when word came through that he was potentially available for a seminar, head coach Thiago Ferreira contacted him and he was only too happy to come and help out.

Despite being booked for an hour-and-a-half, Jackson spent nearly three hours on the mats teaching some of his techniques to adults and children alike.

He also spent time with each and every person who attended the session, making sure they understood and could put into practice his techniques.

After an hour-and-a-half, he then offered to roll with some of the students on the day, and despite every single youngster lining up to take this opportunity, he refused nobody and spent extra time with the children, working on their techniques in a real ‘fight’ situation.

Jackson came across as an extremely likeable and humble human being, and enjoyed his time on the mats with everyone, writing on his own Instagram feed: “Last Sunday I had the opportunity to share my JJ knowledge at Checkmat in Berwick. Also I really had a such great time on the mat rolling with all those kids on the photo.”
