Wooler steps back in time with Victorian Christmas Fair
An all-singing and all-dancing Christmas fair is being held in Wooler for the first time in years.
The event, on Saturday, November 26, is set to take visitors back to the Victorian era.
The Victorian Christmas Market is a joint venture between the Glendale Festival organisers and Riverside Holiday Park.
It will be held at The Riverside pub, on the A697, from noon until 4pm, and will be followed later in the evening by more live entertainment.
“It’s Wooler’s first Christmas market for some time so we wanted to make it an outstanding event,” said Alison Lloyd Harris, chairman of the Glendale Festival Committee.
“There’ll be hot chestnuts, mulled wine and mince pies, Santas’s Grotto, ponies, stalls galore, and even a song or two from some of the cast of Oliver.”
There will be live music on offer, as well as other events, and plenty of stalls to keep visitors occupied, along with festive gifts.
