Wooler gets a spring clean
A spring clean held in Wooler on Sunday was a great success, although organisers say it highlighted that more needs to be done.
More than 30 volunteers turned up and got busy picking litter, painting street furniture and generally tidying up in and around the town.
A host of issues that could not be tackled were noticed. These will be taken up with the relevant authorities.
The spring clean was a joint Glendale Gateway Trust (GGT)/Wooler Parish Council initiative, and was organised by Patrick Sheard.
“Thanks go mainly to the volunteers,” said the GGT’s Rachel Sinton. “They have made a significant difference to the look of the town.”
