Woman who assaulted Berwick police given suspended sentence
A woman who assaulted two police officers has been given a suspended prison sentence.
Rebecca Shell, 18, from Dale Terrace in Edinburgh, had pleaded guilty to two charges of assault and another of being drunk and disorderly at a hearing in October.
After hearing pre-sentence reports, Berwick magistrates ordered the defendant to be committed to detention for 16 weeks suspended for two years.

She was also ordered to complete 200 hours of unpaid work, pay £100 compensation for each assault, a £115 victim surcharge and £85 prosecution costs.
The court previously heard how the defendant kicked out at PC Tweddell and Special Constable Riley when they were called to North Road in Berwick on October 8.
