We'll put cash to good use

Spittal Gardening Group celebrated its third Afternoon Tea in the Park on Sunday, July 15, at Seafield Park.

Tuesday, 7th August 2018, 09:00 am

Once again, the group was very fortunate with a lovely sunny day and great musical entertainment from Revival and the Tinkers.

Grateful thanks go to supermarkets Aldi, Tesco, Morrisons, Asda and Sainsbury’s of Kelso, as well as Heighley Gate Garden Centre of Morpeth, the Green Shop and Fords the Bakers, for their kind contributions.

A special thank you must go to Jackie and Davie at the Spittal Food Store, Neil at Grieves Stationers and staff at Homebase for not only the tea, but for their continued help year round in so many different ways.

Thanks also are due to the many helpers on the day who made it so much easier for the group, the money donations and donations for the raffle, two tombolas, and lots of homemade cakes for the tea and coffee stall, from Spittalers and beyond who appreciate what we are trying to do for Spittal.

The Gardening Group made approximately £1,500 for our efforts and we will put that money to good use for the village.
