Wedding award for Hainsworth's
A Berwick menswear shop has beaten off competition from suppliers across the north of England to win a prestigious prize.
Hainsworth’s clothing store on Marygate won the overall title of best groomswear supplier (north) at the English Wedding Awards.
It also won best groomswear supplier of the the year award for the North East.
David Hainsworth, who runs the shop with his wife, Tracey, said: “This is a fantastic achievement, not only for Hainsworth’s but also for Berwick.
“We were up against some big name suppliers from Cheshire right up to the border so we’re delighted.”
The ceremony, acknowledging the best specialists and establishments of the wedding industry, was held at the Mercure Manchester Piccadilly Hotel, and also raised funds for Make A Wish Foundation.
The awards celebrated those who promote excellence in the industry as well as the efforts and commitment of the very best wedding experts that invest in ensuring their customers always receive top services that are second to no-one, making their wedding day one to remember.

The glitzy evening was hosted by actress and presenter Tabitha Hunter-Smale. As chosen by the public, she presented the winners and provided a platform to thank those in the wedding industry, letting them know that their impeccable work doesn’t go un-recognised.
A spokesperson for the English Wedding Awards 2018-North said: “We are very delighted to have welcomed such meritorious professionals that represent the English wedding industry. It is safe to say that it was a memorable and inspiring night, reflecting the professionalism that flows within this sector.
“Planning a wedding can be challenging but these wedding specialists know how to make one of the most important days of our lives that little bit easier and carefree. The awards provided a platform to acknowledge the champions of the wedding industry who work within establishments where excellence is a standard.
“We would like to thank the English public for their engagement and for making the English Wedding Awards one of the most respected events in the industry. We would also like to congratulate all finalists and winners for their amazing achievements.”
The awards also provided the opportunity to fundraise for a worthwhile cause and this year helped raise money for the official charity partner, Make A Wish Foundation UK who grant magical wishes to children and young people, fighting life-threatening conditions.
