The alert, announced on Monday, August 24, warns of ‘heavy rain’ throughout Tuesday and early on Wednesday which ‘is expected to result in some flooding and disruption to travel.’
The warning, which affects most of the UK amid Storm Francis, will come into force from Tuesday and run until 6am on Wednesday morning.
Met Office forecasters say that bus and train services are likely to be affected, with journey times taking longer. Potential spray and flooding on roads could also impact travel.
Interruption to power supplies and other services are likely, as is flooding of a few homes and businesses.
