The event attracted more than 40 people, the largest number of participants so far.

The walk set off from The Leaping Salmon on Bankhill and continued around the town’s Elizabethan walls.

A post on the charity’s Facebook page said: ‘A grey, dreary day didn’t stop us on our annual sponsored walk around the walls with a record turnout. A huge thanks to all our friends for coming along and supporting us and of course to all who sponsored our walkers. The weather certainly blew the cobwebs away. Yet again you prove what an great little town we have with some amazing people.’
