Value of Scottish trade noted

The benefit of the Scottish Borders and Edinburgh employment markets are set to be included in a revised Northumberland Local Plan core strategy.

The modification is being proposed at the request of Berwick Town Council.

Cllr Eric Goodyer said: “It’s good news that they have now recognised that a fair part of north Northumberland actually borders Scotland and that trade with the Scottish Borders and Edinburgh is very important.”
