Valuable work of volunteers recognised
The 170-strong group of volunteers who help run Citizens Advice Northumberland have been thanked for their efforts by chief executive Moira Macfarlane.
In the past year, the volunteers, along with paid members of staff, have helped over 14,000 local people with problems, giving them advice on subjects such as debt, housing, employment, benefits, consumer and much more.
Ms Macfarlane is now encouraging more local people across the county to get in touch about volunteering opportunities.
She said: “Citizens Advice volunteers change lives. It is thanks to the generosity of our volunteers that Citizens Advice Northumberland is able to help people take control of their lives and deal with the problems they face. There are many opportunities to volunteer at Citizens Advice and new volunteers are always welcome.”
