Unwell walker assisted by air ambulance

A woman became unwell while walking in the Cheviot Hills on Saturday.

The 53-year-old developed chest pains and the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to the scene at 1:50pm.

She was assessed by the Northumberland National Park Mountain Rescue Team and GNAAS before being flown to an ambulance in the valley for onward travel to the Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital in Cramlington.
