Two-month jail term for drugs offences

A Berwick woman has been jailed for eight weeks after pleading guilty to two charges of offering to supply a controlled Class C drug.

Kelly Ann Froggatt, 28, of Weddells Lane, was sentenced at Mid and South East Northumberland Magistrates’ Court, in Bedlington, last week.

The offences date from January 2 and December 15. She also admitted a further charge of possessing cannabis on January 13 last year.

She also pleaded guilty to failing to surrender to custody at Berwick Magistrates’ Court on December 15, and was committed to prison for four weeks concurrent. She was also ordered to pay a £115 surcharge and £85 costs.

l Police have charged a 26-year-old man in relation to an attempted handbag snatch in the Renton Terrace area of Eyemouth on December 13. He is due to appear at Jedburgh Sheriff Court on January 23.
