Tweedmouth road closed after car ends up on its side

Police and other emergency services were called out after a road collision in Tweedmouth this morning.

A motorist collided with a stationary car on Shielfield Terrace and ended up on its side, blocking the road.

A Northumbria Police spokesman said: “At around 11.24am today we received a report of a two vehicle collision in Etal Road, Tweedmouth, involving in a Mitsubishi ASX 4 and a stationary Ford Fiesta.

“As a result of the collision, the Mitsubishi has come to rest on its side, blocking both lanes of the carriageway.

“Emergency service are currently at the scene and the driver of the Mitsubishi is being treated for non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the Ford Fiesta was believed to be uninjured in the incident.
