Tweedmouth repair works are praised by resident
A £60,000 scheme to resurface the car parking area on Prince Edward Road in Tweedmouth has been completed.
Last year, local resident, Ronnie Harley organised a petition after his wife, Margaret, fell on the broken surface last summer.
She banged her head and had to receive treatment at Berwick Infirmary.
Ronnie had been complaining about the pavement for several years, but on this occasion enlisted the support of local councillor Georgina Hill, member for Berwick East.
She secured funding from Northumberland County Council through its Local Transport Plan for the work, which has involved a slight extension of the car parking area.
‘Bit of a difference,’ posted Ronnie on Facebook. ‘Excellent piece of workmanship – well done the Northumberland County Council workmen and thank you Georgina Hill for all your help!’
