TSB supports Berwick dementia group
TSB gave Berwick & District Friends of Dementia £200 to go towards a Christmas party.
Ken Punton, manager of the Berwick branch, said: “We’re delighted to be able to help Berwick & District Friends of Dementia with this donation.
“We know that as a small independent charity they rely solely on the generous support of the people of Berwick. It’s fantastic to know that the £200 we are giving them will really make a difference to people in our local community.”
Margaret Johnson, from the charity, said: “I’d really like to thank TSB for the team’s support.”
She added: “It’s great to see a national company supporting the communities they serve at such a local level. TSB’s donation is really helping us share the Christmas cheer by funding a Christmas party for our group members here in Berwick this Christmas.”
The donation is part of a nationwide Christmas donation programme by TSB, which is giving every one of its branches money to gift to a local cause, as a little extra support at this time of year.
TSB has given more than £1.7 million to local causes across Britain since its local charity partnerships launched in 2015. This year a record 27,000 nominations were received from local charities across the country to join the programme which sees TSB Partners from 550 branches and eight office sites volunteer and raise money on behalf of the chosen charities.
TSB’s Christmas donations are part of the bank’s approach to charitable giving which supports small local causes that matter to its customers where they live and work, rather than focusing on one, centrally chosen charity of the year.
TSB Berwick’s local charity partner for 2017/18 is Berwick & District Cancer Support Group.
