Traders print new leaflet for tourists
Berwick Chamber of Trade has published a new version of its town map and mini guide.
The organisation believes the map is a very effective way of advertising businesses to tourists.
It is also the chamber’s main source of revenue.
John Haswell, chairman, said: “Although we have lost some advertisers, we have also gained some great new ones which I am sure will benefit from advertising in the map that will hit 50,000 visitors to the town. I think the new map looks great and I hope you do too.
“We will be reviewing at the executive committee how we reinvest any profit from the map back into Berwick.”
This year’s map looks great, thanks to help from some local photographers.
The cover picture was taken by Tommy McLeod and the pictures inside the map were taken by Gary Young.
The design work this year was completed by Berwick firm Print Spot. The printing was done by Martins the Printers in Spittal.
The Chamber of Trade would like to thank all those who contributed to its making and who helped get it out on schedule by March 1.
Distribution of the new map and mini guide is already under way, with a large batch being sent to the tourism fair in Alnwick on March 21.
The Chamber of Trade is asking people to discard last year’s map and guide so the new advertisers get the full benefit of their contributions.
The Berwick Chamber of Trade AGM will be held on Thursday, May 4, and an invitation will be sent to all current members.
The agenda will be issued nearer the time but if you want to contribute or just listen to what there is to report then get the date in your diary. The meeting will start at 7.30pm at the Brown Bear Inn on Hide Hill.
Businesses can join Berwick Chamber of Trade for a nominal subscription fee of £10 per annum and continue to benefit from the Chamber of Trade network, the support available and communication on matters which may affect you.
