Three-year ban for Wooler drink-driver
A drink-driver who was caught almost five times over the legal limit has been given a suspended prison sentence.
Nicola Pringle, 40, of Tallet, Wooler, admitted a charge of driving with excess alcohol at Berwick Magistrates’ Court earlier this month.
At that hearing, the court heard that the incident happened at the Riverside Holiday Park, where the defendant was staying, on November 12.
Staff saw the defendant driving a short distance and police were called. The defendant later gave a positive breath test of 169mg alc in 100ml breath. The legal limit is 35mg. Magistrates heard she had drunk a 35cl bottle of vodka.
She was committed to prison for 16 weeks, suspended for two years and banned from driving for three years. She must also pay £200 costs.
