Theatre lines up host of shows for families

Family-friendly shows will be on stage in Berwick to provide entertainment for all.

Shakespeare Untold, a special double-bill, is being brought to the Maltings from London’s world-renowned venue, Shakespeare’s Globe on Saturday, April 30, at 2pm.

In Romeo Untold, the story of Shakespeare’s star-crossed lovers, Romeo and Juliet, is retold through the eyes of the Capulet Ball’s party planner.

Titus Untold retells Shakespeare’s goriest tragedy, Titus Andronicus, as seen from the kitchen of Titus’s piemaker. Tickets are £12.

And members of Maltings Youth Theatre bring back some old friends, and the team that brought Hairspray and Here Come The Girls, to ‘high kick’ into Germany with the outrageous, hilarious musical The Producers from Thursday, May 5 to Saturday, May 7.

The Producers is adapted from Mel Brooks’ 1968 film of the same name.

It ran for over 2,500 performances on Broadway, winning a record-breaking 12 Tony Awards, ran in London for just over two years, has toured the world, and was remade as a hit movie in 2005, starring Nathan Lane, Matthew Broderick and Uma Thurman.
