The pie's the limit for a Coldstream butcher's shop named among the winners four times over at this year's Scottish Craft Butchers Savoury Pastry Products Awards.
GJ Sanderson picked up silver awards for its Scotch pies, sausage rolls, steak-and-kidney pies and chicken pies.
Owner Graham Sanderson, who started as an apprentice in 1988 and bought the business 15 years ago, said he was thrilled to take home that accolade.
“It’s a real team effort here, and the pies and pastries are the result of putting our heads together and developing what we think are the best,” he said.
“We ensure we use good-quality, locally-sourced meat and mix it all with a wee bit of love.
“It’s a great start to the new year to be recognised by them.”
Graham was one of about 60 butchers from all over Scotland to enter the awards, submitting nearly 300 different pies, sausage rolls and bridies in six categories.
