Accompanied by musicians producing a big band sound, June will sing compositions from Gershwin to Bacharach with cabaret-style seating in a night club atmosphere with licensed bar.

Tribute is paid to the Golden era of song along with some self-penned numbers.

June, based in the Borders, concentrates mainly on entertaining home audiences and is one of the few singers who perform this wonderful music .

June performs songs from the American songbook and includes popular songs with wide appeal, which lend themselves to a swing or bluesy treatment. Her personality shines through interpretation of a lyric on smooth ballads, upbeat swing numbers and her own compositions.

Local musicians make up the quintet and include Kate Philp, a local Berwick artist who plays saxophone, Harris Playfair, a skilled keyboard player, Frank Hockney, a talented and experienced drummer, and Mark Mawby, very efficient on bass guitar.

The event takes place on Thursday, March 11, in the Henry Travers Studio.

Tckets £12 adults, £10 concessions, can be booked online at maltingsberwick.co.uk or on 01289 330999.
