This year, an additional category of Youth Volunteer of the Year has been well received with some excellent candidates put forward. In fact, in all the categories there have been very strong contenders.

So a big thank-you to everyone who put someone forward and the Forum is in the process of inviting the shortlisted nominees to the grand award ceremony on July 7.

“The panel has had a tough task this year in deciding which two candidates in each category to shortlist and we could easily have recognised many more nominees,” said Jane Pannell, chairman of the Forum. “We’re looking forward to giving the awards at the Black and Gold as in the previous couple of years.”

If you’d like to attend the event, then a £10 ticket buys you a splendid evening out, including entertainment from the Small Hall Band and a delicious buffet.
