The installation of new street lights in Berwick has proved complicated.

It will be held on Wednesday, September 27, between 3pm to 6pm at the Swan Centre in Tweedmouth.

Representatives from the council’s street lighting department and contractor Galliford Try , which is carrying out the installation of new LED lights across the county, will be there.

The project aims to deliver significant energy savings and help to reduce carbon emissions.

However, there have been numerous complaints about the work in the Berwick area.

Issues with underground electrical connections mean they have been unable to connect the new street lights to the existing network.

The session has been organised with the help of Coun Georgina Hill, member for Berwick East, who has labelled the situation as ‘farcical’.
