Splash park busy after early season problems
Spittal splash park has been getting plenty of use over the fine summer so far.
There were some issues last month with a leak on site, which was fixed the following day.
It was also late being switched on in the spring because of the amount of storm-blown sand which had to be removed.
Berwick Town Council has a maintenance agreement with Northumberland County Council for the splash park and this year, for the first time, it has outsourced the pressure washing to the same contractor which does its bus stops and other street furniture because it was not happy with the service it was getting
“We’ll be keeping an eye on it and asking people at the end of the summer if they think it’s been better or worse,” said clerk Gareth Davies.
