Spittal splash park issue not resolved yet
Berwick Town Council is to make further inquiries into the repair of the electrical housing unit at Spittal splash park.
Concerns about the corrosion of the unit were first raised last year but have still not been resolved.
Councillors agreed there needed to be further discussion with the contractors and Northumberland County Council to find out who is liable for doing the work.
“We don’t want children and young families to lose out,” she said.
Mayor Ivor Dixon added: “I have a feeling that someone is going to come along before the splash park gets started and condemn it.”

His understanding was that the town council had been told it was its responsibility to replace the unit at a cost of £3,000.
But Cllr Hazel Bettison said the original contract needed to be checked.
“As far as I know, the electrics are okay but the box is corroding,” she added.
Cllr Georgina Hill said it appeared that due diligence had not been carried out.
