Spittal gets a defibrillator

Spittal now has a public access defibrillator, thanks to the efforts of Andrew Burn who raised funds during his year as president at Spittal Bowling Club.

Andrew Burn of Spittal Bowling Club handed over a defibrillator to the Mayor of Berwick, Hazel Bettison, having raised funds in his year as president, After the presentation a demonstration was given to the public by David Wilson who is Trustee of the Stephen Carey Fund.

Cllr Bettison said: “Hopefully it will not have to be ever used, but it brings a lot of comfort knowing it is there at the ready if needed, more so with the state of our ambulance provision in Berwick.”
