The competition is the first Abbi has attended where she has not been allowed any coaches or parents through with her to the changing & warm up area, so this was all new , but Abbi just got on with it.

Abbi stepped onto the mats and quickly won her first fight, so then it was a waiting game waiting for the final , Abbi once again stepped out in this huge arena in front of a huge crowd and entered the final. Abbi had Mauricio Gomes mat side shouting and willing her on. The fight was a tough one against a very good opponent and ended with Abbi’s opponent winning on points . This left Abbi a much sought after place on the podium, taking the sliver medal.

Abbi as always would like to thank everyone at Rick Young’s Black Belt Academy, Edinburgh & Tweed Crossfit Spittal , for helping her trainand also everyone that follows her and constantly is supporting her jiu jitsu journey.
