Show of such kindness

May we please, through your column, say thank you to our family, friends, neighbours and work colleagues for their kindness and support during our Mum, Dorothy's, long illness.

We would also like to thank the Rev John Vilaseca for his touching eulogy, Malcolm Mace for his kindness and professionalism, and the staff at The Castle for their hard work and cheerful disposition as we said our final farewells on December 13.

Our greatest and most heartfelt thanks goes to the wonderful and amazing staff of Ward One at Berwick Infirmary. Their kindness and tenderness towards our Mum and their efforts in ensuring that her final days were comfortable and pain-free, thus allowing us to spend quality time with her, will never be forgotten.

It was Mum’s wish that any donations we received in her memory be given to Ward One as a small show of gratitude for the care bestowed on her in her final six weeks.

We, as a family, will never be able to repay that debt or put in to words how much that care helped us during such a difficult time. So many people obviously feel the same and we are proud to say that £700 was given to Ward One this week.
