Shifting the problems
Last week, the headline was that '˜Car parking changes have made impact'.
While I agree with the crux of the article, it must also be recognised that the changes to parking on the Parade have not only made a marked increase in vehicles using the all-day spaces in the Castlegate car park, but also significant increases in vehicles parked on the grass near the bowling club and outwith the permit areas in Northumberland Avenue and Castle Terrace.
Improvements in one area have had a negative impact in others.
In other words, has this new initiative potentially caused problems further out of town?
