Seagull steals crisps from Berwick cafe

Berwick's seagulls appear to be adopting a new food gathering tactic.

A seagull walked off with a packet of crisps from Deyn's Deli in Berwick.

This brazen bird walked into Deyn’s Deli on Castlegate and took a packet of crisps from a shelf before making off with them.

The incident was captured on camera by shop owner Lizzie Middlemiss.

“It was hilarious,” she said.

The town’s gull issue was in the headlines recently when MP Anne-Marie Trevelyan spoke of locals ‘wandering the streets’ with their own firearms to kill the birds.
