Scottish Borders Africa Aids Group
The Scottish Borders Africa Aids Group recently held an evening meeting to mark the International Day of the African Child on June 16 in the Melrose Parish Church hall.
Speakers were the Rev Denise Herbert, who gave an update on the work of the Raphael Centre in Grahamstown, South Africa, and Caroline Beaton, who talked about her charity Kenyawi Kids, which provides sustainable support for orphans in Malawi. A cheque for £1,000 was presented to her.
Caroline also handed over the painting by Douglas Davies, won in a recent raffle, to Winnie Mutl.
