More than £15,000 has been raised so far, to be split equally between five air ambulance services.

They embarked on the challenge at dawn, starting out in Horton in Ribblesdale before climbing the three Yorkshire peaks of Pen y Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, which equate to approximately 24.5 miles in total.

Event organiser Stuart Jeffries said: “This event was the culmination of months of organisation and training and the total that has been raised so far is testament to the individuals who took part. The teams set off at 6am in wet, miserable conditions but remained in high spirits throughout the day.”
