Andrew Manley of the Salvation Army in Berwick.

Thanks to the generosity of people in Berwick last year, The Salvation Army collected around 200 toys and distributed them to around 50 children who might otherwise have not had a present at Christmas. It also provided around 16 Christmas food hampers

From November 26 to December 16, members of the public who would like to help are asked to drop off a new, unwrapped gift for a child aged 0-17 years at one of the following locations: ASDA Tweedmouth; Argos Tweedmouth; Swan leisure centre; The Salvation Army Harvestfield Furniture Project; Ramparts Business Park (9am-4pm Monday to Saturday); The Salvation Army Hall, 53 Church Street, Berwick (generally 9am-3pm Monday to Friday).

Local Salvation Army representatives will then distribute the presents to children and families in need in the area through their own networks, local groups and social services.

If anyone wishes to donate items for the Christmas food hampers, such as tinned meats, crackers, sweets, bottles of non-alcoholic drinks, tea, coffee, Christmas cakes, mince pies, etc, to add to a hamper they can be placed with donated toys too.
