Safety and access issues resolved ahead of rideout
Berwick Riders Association has been praised for its role in organising the Riding of the Bounds.
Clerk Gareth Davies told town councillors the group had worked productively to resolve route access issues and make the event safer for the public.
Meanwhile, the town council is hoping to progress a community traffic marshalling initiative to help reduce the cost of staging events. The issue is the subject of discussion between Northumberland County Council and Northumbria Police. The cost of marshalling the Riding of the Bounds runs into four-figures.
Mr Davies said it would not be in place in time for this year’s Riding of the Bounds but he hoped progress would be made this year.
