'˜Ruthless' Lambert retains British U21 title

Berwick staged the British U21 Final at Shielfield when defending champion Robert Lambert lived up to his nickname of '˜Ruthless' as he won the title for a second successive year.

He won each of his five qualifying races (15 points), setting the fastest time of the season at the Border track in the process.

In the final he was joined by Belle Vue’s Dan Bewley (14), who dropped only one point to Lambert, whilst Connor Mountain (10) and Nathan Greaves (12) progressed through the semi-final.

In the final Lambert led from start to finish anf afterwards admitted his delight at winning.

“It is something else to put on my CV,” he said. “It’s an honour to be British U21 champiuon and I’m delighted to have won again.”
