Runners raise over £10,000 for hospice
Great North Run entrants have raised more than £10,000 for HospiceCare North Northumberland. A 61-strong team represented the hospice in the half-marathon earlier this month.
Emma Arthur, hospice events and community fund-raiser, said “It’s been another fantastic year for us. It’s such a tremendous feeling to have this support from our local community.”
Special thanks were given to the massage therapists who ensured each runner had a bit of pampering afterwards, along with volunteers and Nick McCreath of Berwick-based McCreath & Sons which sponsored the runners’ vests. The total sum will be known in October.
