Rugby Club names inaugural group

Berwick Rugby Club, who are celebrating their 50th anniversary season, are to launch their very own Hall of Fame.

And the Scremerston outfit, who are on course to win the Scottish East League 1 in their landmark campaign, have named the first 10 recipients who will be inducted at the inaugural Hall of Fame dinner, which is to be held in the clubhouse on Friday, March 8.

They are:

Jim Turner; Peter Close; Jim Greenwood; Chris Budzynski; GD Hall; Ronnie Tait; John Simmons; JN Thompson; John Young; and Colin Young.

A club spokesman said: “With such a rich and successful history dating back to 1968, the club has been very fortunate and are extremely thankful to a large number of individuals who have voluntarily given their time and skills to build a strong and welcoming community club for all to be proud of.
