Rotary tees up £4k for Cancer Cars

Following a very successful charity golf tournament, Berwick Rotary Club president Chris Hardie handed over a cheque for £4,000 to Berwick Cancer Cars to support its work.

Berwick Rotary Club President Chris Hardie hands over a cheque for £4,000 to Berwick Cancer Cars.

The Berwick & District Cancer Support Group, commonly known as Cancer Cars, provides free, exclusive transport for people with cancer-related illnesses.

Chris said: “Our golf day was supported by teams from local businesses and as far away as Durham and, with the generosity of our sponsors and main sponsor Tustain Motors, resulted in a great day and great result for local charities.”

The cheque was presented in front of the magnificent Berwick Rotary Club Christmas tree in the centre of the town.

Berwick Rotary’s next event takes place this Sunday. The Christmas market, which features 60-plus stalls, runs from 11am to 4pm and there’s a chance to meet Santa Claus.
