Rotary gets woman president
Berwick Rotary Club will welcome its first woman president in 2019.
Moira Thompson was unanimously appointed as vice president for next year at last week’s special general meeting, with local businessman David Ross appointed chairman.
David has spent five years as chairman of the ways and means committee responsible for fund-raising.
Moira is chairman of vocational services. She has organised two successful fashion shows in the town hall and the team which ran the Spirit of Sport event for the disabled in May.
