Rotarians set for an early start on Sunday
The festive period is one of the busiest times of the year for Berwick Rotary Club as they set about creating the Christmas atmosphere in the town for all to enjoy.
This weekend they will be erecting a 35-foot Christmas tree with lights on in Golden Square as well as erecting decorative lights on the New Bridge.
All this work is done voluntarily by Rotary members and their much-appreciated helpers while most of Berwick enjoys a Sunday lie in!
Raising funds for all these lights which require regular replacement is a constant task and Rotary held a very successful fashion show in the Guildhall last week to help to do this.
On December 11, Rotary will also be putting on the successful Berwick Christmas Market where more than 50 stalls selling gifts and festive produce will be on Marygate and in the town hall. They hope people will support the event.
